Obituary of Connell Seckman Hicks

Connell Seckman Hicks, 90 of Evington, VA, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at Lynchburg, General Hospital.  Born in Charlotte County, VA  March 23, 1933, Connell was a daughter of the late Donald Parker Seckman and Beula Mae Seckman.

Connell was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert E. Hicks, Jr.,  one brother D.P. Seckman and one Sister, Serena Green and one Son, Mark Friend.

She is survived by her son, Robert Hicks, III; a grandson, Robert Hicks, IV; a Godson John Wern Jr., one sister,  Laura Passmore (George) of Culpepper; one brother,  Mike Seckman (Vicky) of Middlebrook one sister-in-Law, Janie Seckman; several nieces, Donna Thomas, Sara Brown, Daphne Ryczko and Gail Powers.

She was a Long Standing Elder Member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church

She worked for the bank at Wells Fargo (Formerly Central Fidelity) and was active on the Campbell County School board. 

Connell was a member of the Red Hill Daughters of the American Revolution, Avid Bridge Player, Volunteer at Lynchburg VA Hospital

Funeral services at St. Andrews Presbyterian at 1:00 on Tuesday March 12 followed by a graveside service at Fort Hill Memorial Park.  

Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Duiguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 434-237-2722 on Monday March 11.
